Even though it is most probably an antique, according to Feferal law it is contraband. Since it had a serial number, like all 1892 Winchester’s did, because it was removed, it makes this an “illegal” firearm. I’m NOT a Winchester rifle wiz so I went online to discover the serial number was removed some time in this rifles past. Anyways.I was asked to supply the serial number and could not find it. I like the gun enough to consider having it relined at a price of about $500 which is a lot but I like the gun. You cannot get 2 rounds within 3 feet of each other at 40 feet and the bullets are tumbling. It seemed to be mechanically sound but I did not really inspect the bore.
